In the book published by Yapı Kredi Publications, Prusia’dan Bursa’ya, the first establishment story of Bursa as a city is included. The book, which allows us to experience a city planned and built 3000 years ago, as the most important feature of it, narrates the arrival of the Carthage armies fighting the Romans to the front lines of Bursa. Hannibal, who is also a political man, is at the head of this army (247-182 BC). Hannibal camps at the northern outskirts of Olympos Mysios. He is welcomed with interest by Prusias I, King of Bithynia. In return for this interest and gratitude, Hannibal draws a city plan and construction begins. The name of this city is called "Prusias". "Prusias" is the first name of Bursa. The Ahi Brotherhood Organization, which regulates the creation of funds from local government and natural resources and the economic protection of the people, was first established in Bursa. Establishment of Bursa on fertile lands where intercontinental trade routes intersect from the beginning of its history, production and trade of silk and olive oil in the city, and the presence of important hot springs and baths in this region have increased the importance of the city. Due to the fact that production and trade increased to the highest levels during the Ottoman period, too many business inns were built in Bursa to be found in any Ottoman city. These inns were classified according to the type of goods produced. Such as Tuz Hanı (inn of salt), Pirinç Hanı (inn of rice), Koza Hanı (inn of silk cocoon), İpekçiler Çarşısı (silk merchants bazaar), etc. The city, which was rich in ethnicity with its Armenian, Greek, Jewish and Muslim people living in the city during the Ottoman period, had a commercial and cultural position in the international arena. In these periods, there were consulates of 6 countries in Bursa. The 365-page book was prepared by the Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality for the period 1999-2004 and the Founding President of the Historical Cities Association, Erdoğan Bilenser. Mentored by Prof. Dr. Metin Sözen and Prof. Dr. Önder Küçükerman, the scientific chapter articles of the book were written by Dr. Cafer Çiftçi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bedri Yalman, Asst.
